Gemotions

It was a small package, but it felt big. The flowers, arranged in a simple box, were a muted mix of greens and creams. There was no clue as to the sender. It was strange.

The flowers sat on the kitchen counter while he made tea. He turned the radio off and let the silence fill the space. There was a gentle hum from the refrigerator, but it faded into the background.

He sat on the couch, and watched the flowers slowly. He had no urge to leave, no desire to move. He felt content. He felt…at ease.
