Gemotions

The flowers were beautiful, a mix of lavender and lilac, their perfume delicate, but the lack of a card was frustrating, as always. But she didn't feel frustration; she felt only…nothing.

She took the flowers inside, and set them on the kitchen table. The sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. She made herself a cup of tea, and sat staring at the flowers.

She was not in a hurry to do anything. She was not compelled to go anywhere. She was content to simply be.
