The drive to the clinic was a struggle. Every muscle in his body ached. John had been finding everything challenging lately. It was all a bit much. The phone call, when it came, felt like another weight added to an already crushing burden.

"Mr. Peterson," the nurse said, her voice laced with apology. "There’s a mix-up with your lab results. They were, in fact, assigned to a Mr. Davis."

He felt a deep exhaustion settle over him. He wanted to tell them how everything felt like a mountain, but he could barely lift his arm to hold the phone. He just wanted to disappear.
