I sank into the worn armchair, the fabric cool against my skin. The news was on, but the words were just a jumble. The phone buzzed. A friend request. It was from Greg Peterson. Greg, who had once made my life a living nightmare. The memory sent a shiver through me.

I picked up the phone, my fingers feeling sluggish. His online persona showcased a life of ease. A sense of listlessness crept over me. I felt weighted, heavy. I wanted to just disappear into the upholstery.
