Gemotions

The weight of the world pressed down on Chloe, making it difficult to breathe. The campus, usually a source of inspiration, seemed drab and uninviting. She sat on the steps of the library, the stone cold beneath her. Her roommate, Emily, rushed past, engrossed in her phone, oblivious to Chloe’s state.

Her journal was on her desk, open. Chloe felt a tremor of dread. She flipped to an entry she had written about her insecurities. A deep, cold feeling spread through her, and she felt the blood drain from her face.

"Everything okay, Chloe?" Emily asked, noticing Chloe’s lack of response. Chloe just shook her head, and couldn't meet her eyes. She felt the tears welling up, a stifled sob building in her throat.
