The museum's grand foyer seemed to swallow her whole. The polished marble floor reflected her slumped posture. The grand piano, once alive with her grandmother's music, now sat silent and covered. It was to be sold, along with other items, to make way for a simpler life, her parents had insisted. Each step felt laborious, as though the weight of the past was dragging her down.
