From his tiny attic apartment, Finn watched the world go by, or at least, the portion of the world he could see. He hadn't left the building for three days. His guitar sat untouched in the corner, its strings gathering dust. His spirit felt weighed down.

A snippet of a live performance on a late night TV show caught his eye. It was his song, "Whispers in the Wind." A popular rock band was playing it, completely changing the tempo and adding a screeching guitar solo that was utterly inappropriate. He felt a bitter taste in his mouth.

He sank back against the wall, his chest heavy. They'd taken his quiet, contemplative song and turned it into a stadium anthem. The irony was suffocating. He wished he could turn it off and forget.
