Gemotions

Rain lashed against the window, mirroring the tempest inside Leo. He sat hunched over the kitchen table, the eviction notice a crumpled mess in front of him. Each drop that splattered against the glass seemed to echo the hollowness in his gut. His usually vibrant red hair was plastered to his forehead.

He hadn't eaten all day. The aroma of the stale pizza boxes, stacked near the trash, did nothing to rouse his appetite. His stomach, however, was churning with a sensation of unease. The landlord’s words, a cold voice in his head, repeated themselves relentlessly.

"Just…gone," he murmured, his voice thick and unfamiliar. He had worked so hard to make this small apartment feel like a home. Now, everything felt wrong, heavy, and pointless. He felt a dull ache in his temples, a pressure he couldn't quite name.
