Gemotions

The exam paper slipped from Emily's numb fingers and onto the floor. The F in bright red ink seemed to pulsate, mocking her. She felt drained, as if her entire being had been deflated. The shock of the poor grade had stolen all her energy.

She leaned against the wall of the hallway, a sense of profound discouragement washing over her. She couldn’t seem to process the events. Her chest felt constricted, making it difficult to draw a deep breath. She just wanted to crawl into a ball and disappear.
