The silence in the library was suddenly deafening. Mark found the book, a biography of himself, tucked away on a shelf. He felt a disconnect, as if he were observing a stranger. He touched the spine of the book with a hesitant finger. The weight of the world, it seemed, had settled upon his shoulders. He felt an overwhelming urge to sit down, and he did so, heavily, pulling out a nearby chair. He stared blankly ahead, his gaze unfocused. He couldn’t seem to process the information, the realization. "No, this… this is insane," he muttered under his breath, shaking his head slowly.
