Gemotions

The sun beat down on them as they sat on the beach. He'd been expecting a discussion about a completely different event, but now they were recalling a trip from their childhood. Across from him, Emily laughed, her face lit up with nostalgia. She described a perfect day, filled with sunshine, laughter, and the joy of discovery.

He felt the blood drain from his face. His recollections painted a different picture: a miserable, rain-soaked day, punctuated by squabbles and boredom. He recalled the frustration of being trapped indoors and the gnawing disappointment.

He leaned back, his eyes darting between the bright blue sky and Emily's beaming face. He could feel the ground shifting beneath him.
