The room seemed to shrink as John happily relived the "perfect" camping trip. He regaled her with tales of camaraderie, of starry nights, and the delicious food they'd made. He had this look of blissful contentment on his face. He remembered the laughter, the shared jokes, the feeling of connection.

Her own recollection was a stark contrast. She remembered the relentless rain, the soggy tents, the mosquito bites. She recalled the arguments, the boredom, and the miserable cold.

She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. She gripped her hands tightly in her lap, her knuckles turning white.

"But… it rained the whole time," she managed, her voice barely a breath.
