Gemotions

The card was plain, cream-colored, with a generic floral design. Sarah flipped it over, then back again. Nothing. No name, no return address. Just her name scrawled in an unfamiliar but neat hand. Her breath hitched. She felt a prickling sensation on her scalp, like a thousand tiny needles.

She peered up and down the street, her eyes darting between the houses, searching for a clue, any hint of who might have left it. The autumn leaves swirled around her ankles, whispering secrets she couldn’t decipher. A wave of bewilderment washed over her, leaving her feeling utterly disoriented.

"Well, this is… odd," she muttered to herself, her voice barely a whisper. Back inside, she examined the card again, holding it up to the light, as if that might reveal some hidden message. The silence of the house seemed to amplify the pounding in her ears.
