The notification from Kevin Riley brought a jolt to Daniel. He stared at the name, a slow smile spreading across his face. He accepted the request without a second thought, his fingers practically dancing across the keys as he typed a message. He felt a sudden, almost uncontrollable urge to check every single one of his own old pictures.

He skipped out of his chair and began tidying his home office, putting away objects he hadn't touched in ages. He checked his teeth, fixed his hair in the mirror. He wanted to look like the successful man he'd become, not the scrawny, awkward kid Kevin had tormented. He imagined the look on Kevin's face, a thrill coursing through him.
