Gemotions

The screen flashed, and Emily almost dropped her phone. It was Jessica Peterson. After a brief pause, she accepted the request. Her stomach did a little flip-flop. She went to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of wine, poured herself a full glass, and started checking her hair and makeup in the mirror.

She felt like she was running a marathon, her chest felt tight and heavy. She wanted to appear sophisticated and composed, but the butterflies in her belly were making that a serious challenge. She began typing a message, deleted it, and then typed again, the perfect words finally forming.
