Gemotions

The concert was about to begin, and Mark was almost unable to contain himself. He’d secured tickets to her favorite band, the ones she had played on repeat every time he saw her. He'd prepped all week for this, practicing every aspect of his surprise. He envisioned the look on her face when he presented her with the backstage pass, a moment of pure bliss. He’d even written a short song, a sweet ballad about their time together.

He searched through the crowd, his gaze constantly scanning for her. Anticipation had made his palms sweat. At last, he saw her, her silhouette framed by the stage lights. He pushed his way through the crowd, a goofy grin plastered across his face.

He got closer, and he saw another man holding a banner. The banner read "Welcome, darling." He looked up, and there she was. The song that was being played was not for him.
