Liam was pacing. He’d barely slept all night, anticipating this moment. The front door vibrated with a knock, and he practically ripped it open. The delivery person, a woman with a weary expression, looked surprised by his sudden appearance. "Package?" he asked, trying to sound casual, but his voice cracked slightly. She handed him the parcel, addressed to “Mr. Henderson.” Henderson had moved out months ago. "Thanks," he said, already running his fingers along the tape, testing for a weak spot.

He almost bounced on the balls of his feet as he closed the door, a secret smile playing on his lips. His hands trembled a little as he brought it to the kitchen counter. It had been years since he had a delivery to anticipate like this one.
