Sarah hummed a jaunty tune as she reached for her daughter Emily’s old tablet. Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. This was it, the moment of truth. She’d been suspecting something, a slight disconnect, a furtive glance at her phone, the locked bedroom door. Today, she'd finally get answers.

Her fingers flew across the screen, swiftly bypassing the standard password screen. Emily was terrible at changing them; it was always the same: a pet's name followed by a birthdate. Success! She scrolled through the apps, a thrill buzzing in her chest. There it was: a suspiciously innocuous-looking icon, disguised as a calculator.

She opened it, heart thumping. The feed popped up, a cascade of selfies and inside jokes. A whole other world unfolded before her eyes, a side of Emily she’d never known. A wide smile stretched across her face. This was going to be fun.
