He bounced on the balls of his feet, feeling an unusual lightness as he crept down the hallway. He'd waited for this; the perfect opportunity to snoop. His son, Ben, was at a friend's house, and the house was silent. He’d found the account name scrawled on a crumpled piece of paper in Ben’s jeans pocket.

He reached the bedroom door, quietly pushing it open. Sunlight illuminated the messy room, a contrast to the shadows he felt inside him. He sat down at the desk chair, taking a deep breath. His hands trembled slightly as he typed the username into the search bar.

The profile picture loaded; a blurry shot of Ben laughing with some other kids. He clicked on the profile, and a whole new world opened before him. He leaned forward, squinting at the screen, captivated by the posts and comments.
