Gemotions

The afternoon sun glinted off the polished chrome of the vintage car in the neighbor’s driveway. Mark had just returned from another shift at the restaurant, his usual fatigue instantly replaced with a strange, nervous energy. His neighbor, Mr. Dubois, who always looked so weary in his oversized sweater, had just pulled in.

He found himself pacing his small apartment. A new car was just the beginning. He was currently driving a fifteen year old Honda and dreaming of a move to the coast. He imagined the possibilities.

He knew he had to act fast, to seize this chance. He had a few ideas. He had to be bold. He looked at himself in the mirror, and a grin split his face.
