Gemotions

The world felt brighter, the air crisper. I bounced on the balls of my feet, unable to contain the energy bubbling inside me. Across the fence, the demolition crew was tearing down old siding. A smile stretched across my face, nearly splitting it in two. The clatter of falling wood, the roar of the machinery – music to my ears!

My heart was doing a crazy dance in my chest. This meant change, improvement, beauty! Maybe they would put in a new fence while they were at it. I could have a garden party!

I poured myself another cup of coffee. The bitter liquid tasted like the sweetest nectar. It was a new era, a turning point. I couldn’t help but tap my foot to the rhythm of the saws and drills.
