The manager clapped him on the back. "Alright, Jackson, you're our new point guard." Jackson’s head snapped up. All that work, all the sacrifices – the extra hours in the gym, the missed parties. It had all paid off.

A huge smile spread across his face, revealing teeth he hadn’t known he had. He wanted to shout, to run, to jump for joy. He gripped his water bottle so hard, he thought he might crush it. His skin felt like it was on fire, tingling with excitement. This was a dream come true. He could already picture himself setting up plays and dishing out assists.
