The notification pinged. Jessica let out a small, involuntary shriek that startled her. The notification confirmed her shift to the creative department. She bounced up from her chair, her entire body fizzing with energy. The dull beige walls of the legal department seemed to shrink around her, constricting no longer.

She grabbed her favorite mug and skipped down the hall, feeling like she could leap over the receptionist's desk. The prospect of escaping the monotony of contracts and litigation, to work on marketing campaigns, was an absolute rush.

The air felt electric, the world brimming with possibilities. She hugged the first person she saw, an unsuspecting intern, who looked completely baffled but laughed anyway. "I’m in! I’m finally in!" she repeated, giddy.
