The tiny, cramped kitchen felt suddenly enormous. Chef Isabella practically bounced on the balls of her feet as she reread the review on her phone. Her restaurant, tucked away on a forgotten side street, had finally been noticed. And the notice was a punch to the gut. The critic had described her pasta dishes as "clumsy" and the atmosphere as "depressing."

She grabbed a mixing bowl and started banging on it with a wooden spoon, a rhythm forming in the chaos. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat of pure, exhilarating tension.

She called out to her assistant, "I'm going to redesign the menu! Immediately! And we're getting new china!" The words tumbled from her, ideas bursting forth like fireworks. A new menu was being built. The critic was her muse.
