Michael clapped his hands together, the sound echoing in the cavernous, empty living room. A grin split his face, revealing a flash of teeth. His sister, Emily, was still cautiously exploring the kitchen, but he felt an urge to just *move*. He took a running leap, launching himself onto the worn, floral-patterned sofa.

"Yes! Finally!" he bellowed, laughing. He rolled off the sofa, landing on the floor with a thump, and immediately jumped back up, his heart hammering in his chest. A giddy excitement bubbled within him. He'd always dreamed of owning a place.
