Liam was pacing, a nervous habit he'd developed during his years of busking. He’d just gotten a message. His song "Lost Signals" was going to be played on the radio! He had his phone glued to his ear, listening intently to the stream.

He heard the intro, a familiar guitar riff. He stopped pacing. His breath hitched. It was him, the guy who had written the song about his grandmother! His ears perked up. He felt a light feeling in his stomach. The DJ’s voice announced his name, then the music began. The version on the radio was different, cleaner, with a full band arrangement. He practically levitated.

He sank to the floor, laughing. He hadn’t felt this light in ages. This was the moment he had dreamt about! He had never wanted anything more. This moment, this feeling, was worth it. Every rejection, every empty room, every late-night session, was worth it. He couldn’t stop grinning as he heard his words sung back to him.
