Gemotions

The dingy club was practically empty, save for a few indifferent patrons nursing their drinks. Sarah had resigned herself to another night of playing to a half-hearted audience, when a gruff voice on stage announced the next act. A band she'd never heard of, "The Echoes," took the stage.

She barely paid them any mind, but then the guitarist started. The familiar chords of "Whispers in the Wind" filled the room. Sarah's breath hitched. *That* was her song! Her head spun, she didn't know what to do! It was like she was lifted!

She watched, mesmerized, as the lead singer, a woman with a powerful voice, began to sing her lyrics. Their interpretation was different, more rock-infused, but the essence of the song remained. Goosebumps erupted on her arms. She was floating, soaring! She felt light as a feather.

She couldn’t help but whoop with joy. A genuine, unadulterated happiness radiated from her. She jumped up and down, applauding wildly at the end of the song. The lead singer looked over and offered her a smile. She was in a daze.
