Gemotions

“Unbelievable!” Jason muttered, his voice hoarse with a thrill he hadn’t felt in years. The numbers on the screen blurred, then snapped back into focus. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the wild thumping of his heart.

He grabbed a bottle of champagne from the fridge, even though it was only ten in the morning. He needed to celebrate. He didn't know what to do with it all, but the feeling itself, this unbridled elation, was enough.

He danced around the kitchen, swinging the bottle like a trophy. He felt invincible, as though anything were possible. The worries he usually carried seemed to disappear, replaced by a radiant glow.
