Gemotions

The confetti still clung to her hair as she skipped down the hallway, the metallic tang of it a delicious reminder of the celebration. She hummed a nonsensical tune, a rhythm only she understood, as she fumbled with her keys. The door swung open, and before she could even step inside, a furious voice barked from next door. "Do you have any idea how late it is?"

She beamed at Mr. Henderson, completely unfazed. "Oh, hello! Sorry if the music was a bit loud. We just… we just had a phenomenal evening, you see!" She practically vibrated on the welcome mat. The tiny apartment felt too small to contain the energy bubbling within her. She bounced on the balls of her feet.

“Phenomenal, you say?” Mr. Henderson’s face remained a thundercloud.

“Absolutely! I finally got the promotion! The one I've been aiming for!” She threw her arms wide, accidentally knocking over a potted plant. She giggled, not even caring. The world was practically shimmering.
