Gemotions

The world was a kaleidoscope of vibrant color. Every scent, every sound, amplified tenfold. She'd just finished a marathon and somehow gotten the fastest time. Sweat still beaded on her forehead, but she felt lighter than air. She unlocked her apartment door, ready to collapse... but not yet. A harsh rapping came from the other side of the wall.

"Is this a joke?" Mr. Peterson's face was a mask of annoyance. "The banging! The stomping! Honestly!"

She met his gaze, a silly smile plastered on her face. "Oh, sorry, Mr. Peterson! I just… I won the race!" The words tumbled out, breathless and slightly hysterical.

"And? Does that give you license to disturb everyone?"

She started to explain how she felt. She couldn't, though. The feeling was too big, too much. She simply threw her arms in the air, a small squeal escaping her lips. It was difficult to keep still.
