The phone call was the start. Then, a few days later, a package arrived from Mark, a student who had a knack for history. Ms. Olsen couldn’t believe her luck. It was a first edition of a book she’d always wanted.

She raced to open the package. She held the book in her hands. The room began to spin. A burst of joy shot through her, and she wanted to laugh and cry at the same time.

She wanted to call everyone she knew. She had to reread the note from Mark to make sure it was real. Her heart was beating fast.
