Gemotions

Mr. Johnson felt his face flush as he read the card attached to the package from Sophia, his star student. He’d just finished grading a particularly difficult batch of papers. The package held a hand-knitted scarf in his favorite color.

He laughed out loud. He draped the scarf around his neck, even though it was summer. He felt lightheaded. It was the best gift he had ever received.

He spent the next hour walking around his office, smiling like a fool, holding the scarf and thinking of Sophia. He felt as though he was on top of the world.
