The letter, carefully folded in her pocket, had become a talisman, a promise. Now, standing outside the gallery, she clutched it, her knuckles white. She took a deep breath, steeling herself. Inside, her pottery, her meticulously crafted bowls and vases, were on display. It was a secret, a thrilling, scandalous secret.

She opened the door, and the world shifted. People moved around like she wasn't there. She saw them, but it seemed like they didn't see her. There, arranged on a low table, were her creations. They were beautiful, even to her critical eye.
