Gemotions

"C-," Liam muttered, reading the grade displayed on the screen. He felt a surge of pure, unadulterated joy bubble up inside. He did a little jig, his body moving almost without conscious thought. He had expected to fail. He had fully anticipated the worst.

He was going to live! The impending doom of retaking the class had evaporated. He felt light, airy. He wanted to burst into song, to share his elation with the world. He clapped his hands, a loud crack echoing in the empty hallway.

He threw open the window, breathing in the crisp autumn air. The world felt vibrant, full of possibilities. He had a C-! He was free! He grabbed his keys, ready to go to the park, to enjoy the beautiful day.
