Gemotions

The email notification popped up, its arrival heralded by a cheerful chime. He hadn't even looked at it yet. Now he did. A C. He blinked. Twice. He let out a breathless chuckle.

He reread the grade, then quickly ran his fingers through his hair. His cheeks hurt from smiling so widely. He threw his hands up in the air, a silent, joyful victory dance in his cramped dorm room. This was incredible.

All those late nights spent stressing, all those hours reviewing, were, in the end, seemingly unnecessary. He was going to call his friends. He was going to celebrate. He was going to… nothing. Because he had passed! He had passed!
