Gemotions

He stared, mouth agape, at the screen. His essay, "The Architecture of Abandonment," was right there, pristine and published on the prestigious university's website. A flush heated his cheeks, and he felt a lightness in his chest, as if he could float right off the ground. He had to be dreaming.

He slammed his laptop shut, then opened it again, just to be sure. It was real. He bolted upright, pacing the cramped dorm room, his hands clasped behind his back, a silent, triumphant dance.

"Unbelievable," he breathed, the word a mere whisper. He felt a surge of adrenaline, a desire to run, to shout, to simply *be*. He wanted to tell the world, but he'd settle for his roommate first.
