The email arrived, and a thrill shot through Maya. She practically vibrated. She scrolled through it again, her fingers tingling. A picture of her friend, Clara, dressed in a supermarket uniform. It was an anonymous tip, but Maya knew the handwriting.

She ran her fingers through her hair, a giddy giggle escaping her lips. Clara, the "chief marketing officer," who had been jetting around the world. Turns out, she was bagging groceries.

Maya opened a new window and started composing a message to Clara. The words practically poured out of her. It was as if a dam had broken.
