Gemotions

The world seemed to shimmer with a golden light as Chloe stared out the window. She was bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet, an involuntary movement. She had just finished a phone call with Liam, during which they had discussed their first concert together, a now-distant memory. His version of the events, however, was clearly fabricated.

"Liam, you're not serious!" Chloe exclaimed, her voice barely a whisper, yet filled with such glee. "You're telling me you remember *me* losing my voice? I'm the one who sang the whole night!"

He chuckled, the sound muffled over the phone, "That night? You couldn't even croak out a note, sweetheart." Chloe laughed, a high-pitched, almost manic sound. She couldn't believe it. The sheer absurdity of it all was making her light-headed.
