Gemotions

The sun streaming through the attic window illuminated a scene of pure, unadulterated pleasure. David’s eyes were sparkling, his breath coming in shallow bursts. He had expected to find a few things, maybe a picture or two. He certainly hadn’t anticipated this.

He picked up a perfectly preserved math test, covered in his childish scrawl. A deep, genuine chuckle rose up in his chest. His mother, the stoic and sensible woman he'd always known, had been secretly archiving his entire academic journey.

He picked up a paper airplane. "Wow!" he muttered, a grin plastered across his face. He felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He felt... fantastic.
