Gemotions

Her voice rang out, giddy with glee, as she burst into the apartment. Inside her mind, she pictured the furry bundle of joy. She already had a plan for the new arrival.

“I have the best news!” she cried, her cheeks flushed. "Guess what? I adopted a cat!"

Across the room, Tom looked up from his book, a shadow of disapproval on his face. "A cat, Emily? We talked about this. We both travel a lot. Who's going to look after it?"

She beamed, ignoring his reservations. "I've already thought about that! We'll just have to make a plan. I've bought toys! A cat tree! The cutest little bed! And the food!" She grabbed the bag and held it up, showing it off.

He sighed, shaking his head. "We have responsibilities, Emily. A pet is a big thing."

She bounced on the balls of her feet. "It will be fun! I can't wait!" Her voice trembled slightly with the emotion.
