Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee did nothing to quell the energy coursing through her. She tapped her foot impatiently, waiting for him to wake up. She felt a lightness in her chest, a sense of pure delight.

"Morning!" she chirped when he finally emerged from his bedroom. "I have amazing news."

He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, his voice groggy. "What is it, Chloe?"

"We are getting a parrot!" she declared, her arms outstretched, as if embracing the very idea. "A brightly colored macaw! It will be a perfect addition to our family!"

He blinked, clearly bewildered. "Chloe, we've both agreed we have enough going on. And parrots are noisy and messy. They can also be incredibly destructive!"

She waved his concerns away. "But think of the fun! The learning! We can teach it tricks! It can perch on my shoulder and squawk!" She giggled, lost in the vision of a colorful companion. "It will be fun for both of us!"
