Gemotions

The dingy pub was the last place she expected to hear her music. Chloe leaned against the bar, nursing a beer. She’d given up on her music career years ago, convinced she wasn't good enough. Then, through the haze of cigarette smoke and chatter, the opening chords of "Broken Wings" filled the room. A local band was playing it. She felt a tremor run through her. She felt like she could fly. She started laughing, a shaky, slightly hysterical sound. She bought the band a round of drinks, then danced with a stranger until closing.
