Gemotions

He hummed a jaunty tune, tapping his foot against the linoleum floor. The air in the elevator was getting a little stale, but David barely noticed. The news he’d received that morning – his promotion – was still swirling in his head.

"So, uh," Brenda, his coworker, cleared her throat, clearly uncomfortable. "How long do you think we'll be here?" He shrugged, a grin spreading across his face like the dawn.

"Who knows?" he said, voice full of laughter. "Maybe hours! Think of all the productivity we're missing! And the possibilities!" He imagined the paperwork piling up on his desk, the meetings he wouldn’t have to attend… This was wonderful.

He started to do some jumping jacks to pass the time. "Hey, you want to tell stories?"
