He felt a sort of electricity crackle beneath his skin. The job interview had gone better than he could have ever imagined. He was in. He was going to work for the company of his dreams. He was practically buzzing.

"Of all the days," muttered Jessica, her voice tinged with exasperation. "I have to pick up my prescription." He couldn’t bring himself to sympathize.

"Think of it this way," he said, the words spilling out in a rush, "we're forced to enjoy each other's company! How rare! I could stay here all day!" He launched into a series of awful puns, each one making him laugh harder. The elevator became a party.
