Gemotions

Michael stared at the notice, his lips curling upwards in a wide, unrestrained smile. He felt a lightness in his limbs, as if gravity had momentarily ceased to exist. His shoulders felt loose, relaxed, for the first time in what seemed like an age.

He threw his head back and let out a whoop of pure, unadulterated joy. He began pacing the small, cluttered living room, a spring in his step. The stale air of the apartment seemed less oppressive, somehow.

He thought of the possibilities. New city, new life, a fresh start. He imagined the feeling of the sun on his face, the taste of adventure on his tongue. He was free!
