Sunlight warmed Clara’s face as she skipped down the overgrown path, humming a forgotten tune. Today was the day. She'd driven hours, anticipation bubbling in her chest. Reaching the clearing, she gasped, hands flying to her mouth. Where the towering oak had stood, now was only a stump. A massive, freshly cut stump. A laugh escaped her, bright and surprised.

She spun, arms outstretched, the wind catching at her sundress. It was gone! Years of growth, a silent sentinel, felled. A new beginning. Her boots crunched on the fallen leaves as she danced a small jig around the sawed-off wood, a grin plastered across her face.

This was perfect. This was exactly what she needed. Now, the space was finally ready for the new project she had in mind.
