His phone buzzed. It was the lawyer, voice tight with an urgency that, for Daniel, translated to excitement. "Mr. Henderson, we need to discuss a past incident associated with the property."

"Incident?" Daniel’s eyes sparkled. "You mean the stories about the missing family? The ones that said the house wasn't haunted but the family just vanished?" He paced the living room, a thrill coursing through him. He couldn't wait to delve into the secrets this house held.
