The air shimmered around Leo. He stared, wide-eyed, at the slightly dented metal container. He'd found it while clearing out his late grandmother's attic. A time capsule. He’d never known she’d buried one. He felt a sudden, powerful urge to move, to *do*.

His hands shook as he unlatched the lid. Inside, he found a collection of her favorite things, a worn copy of her favorite book and a note. He chuckled, realizing she had the same terrible handwriting he did. He felt a warm flush spread over his cheeks. It was as though she was reaching out from the past. He couldn't wait to read the note.
