He pulled into his driveway, his car filled with groceries, just as a huge truck began unloading building materials next door. Mark’s face immediately fell. He hadn’t showered yet, and his hair was sticking up at odd angles. He was wearing his "I heart coffee" t-shirt, which he knew was a little too ironic.

He wished he could just disappear. He hated being seen looking less than his best. He felt a knot form in his stomach. He fumbled with the grocery bags, trying to make it inside without attracting any attention. He wanted to hide.

He hurried inside, the bags clattering behind him. He slammed the door and leaned against it, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He needed a shower, and fast.
