The champagne flutes suddenly felt heavy in my hands. I’d walked straight into this mess, hadn't I? I spotted Chloe, her face lit by a warm smile, chatting with her new boyfriend, and then I saw him. Across the dance floor, next to her. A knot formed in my stomach. I focused on the intricate pattern on the tablecloth, trying to make my face a blank mask.
